After finding out Harlequin was down, especially the links I was interested in, I decided to NOT suck it up for a change, and I actually e-mailed their tech. dept. Very surprised was I (if I may use Joda speak) to get a reply, in which they actually supplied me with a temporary link to get to the page I wanted, along with assurances that all will be well on their site soon.
More surprised was I, when later that same evening I optimistically trotted along to the usuall Harlequin site, and WOW! it was up and running.
“Two thumbs up” for your tech ppl Harlequin, they actually kept one lowly South African client happy smooch.
Bitching does help, and some ppl, some of the time actually seem to give a crap about their target market.
In Dec I rambled on about the gap in the online reading market, especially for free romance novels. Well I have saddled that horse again! I tried to visit my regular (by this I mean daily) Harlequin site to check out what new daily read they have… but ‘lo and behold… there is no daily read, and there is suddenly no more writing round robin! How disgusted was I? What the freak am I gonna do with the extra 10 minutes I now have?
This post answers that question I suppose…. it’s obviously what I found to fill my time slot… but it’s just not the same.
Come on publishing industry…. through your own greed you know we normal slaving humans cannot really afford to buy books by the bushel… and now you shrink our free online reading fun?!
You paper pushing fiends!
Yeah I know that I said I would be back and blogging more than I have been…. but what can I say… between family, work (more like slavery) and playing Battlefield this seems to have gone by the way side. Thanx to a member of the WarGeeks clan I belong to that tripped over my blog and posted, I am back and gonna try to get stuff written down more often.
Maybe I should just post some old exam papers, or working copies of the books I am writing for anyone interested, or some frustrated teachers to take advantage of. Anyway… I will see what I can put myself up to posting….
AH! Had an idea, seeing as the nudge from hubby in Jan did not inspire me for too long, perhaps I could contact the Hugh Jackman fanclub, and ask them to get him to come do a personal nudge…. maybe some inspiration like that is all this socked out and exhausted teacher needs :D.
What? I can drool can’t I? I am married… not dead
