Am I the only person of half sane mind and open eye left in a 100km radius?? What is going on in the minds of Homo sapiens on Earth? I came across this page on the WHO websites, and could not believe what I read….. http://www.who.int/employment/recruitment/en/index.html Check out the bottom paragraph where they actually admit for all to see that they will actively discriminate against smokers on the grounds that they are not keeping to the “good health” image the WHO strives so diligently for. What about people who drink?? What makes a liver a more desirable organ to destroy than a lung? What about people who are addicted to medication, is the brain an organ you can destroy and not the lung? What about child abusers, sexual harassers etc, do they not affect the health of their victims, so, although indirectly, they are also not going to be employed, and will also be subjected to a barrage of questions regarding their PERSONAL CHOICES!!!
Take this one step further (if there is such a thing), and view the latest farce in the governing of our beautiful and democratically free country of South Africa… http://www.thestar.co.za/ check for today’s news…. Here is a tidbit…… Domestic workers should also be shielded from smokers in their work environment - like any other employee in the country. [ Full Story... ] Our wonderfully legally acting government now wants to stop people from smoking in their own homes due to the fact the their domestic workers may be exposed to second hand smoke or some such noxious gas. Can they rather be beaten to a pulp by a drunk boss? or raped by would be thieves when they break in while the owner is away somewhere having a long wished for cigarette? What does the government want? A multi billion dollar bribe from the tobacco industry, such as the OBVIOUSLY got from the liquor industry….. why else is no-one bringing up the fact that excessive drinking leads to liver cancer…. leads to 5 teenagers dying instantly in a head-on collision after their matric farewell….
“Oh sorry ma’am… you may not light that cigarette in your car, but do not worry…. Eish!…. take a swig of my Klipdrift (which is freely advertised on TV) and then you can drive home”
Just wondering why more people haven’t been publicizing this McNaught comet in South Africa… it is so cool for kids to start learning about it early on. At least it’s here now… for whomsoever to see.
Thanx to a nudge from hubby, I am blogging now again… nothing earth shattering mind you… just warning ANYBODY who may perchance stumble (no reference intended) upon my blog that I will hopefully be blogging about all the cool sites I come across. I will be putting the ones related to school subjects - specifically biology and science - under the work related category, f.y.i. and the rest I shall feel free to dump unceremoniously anywhere I wanna
Hope someone finds something cool here… as I am sure to do.
